The residency program concentrates on the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and vision problems commonly encountered
in a medical center environment. Typical conditions encountered include glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular
degeneration, vascular disease, neruo-ophthalmic and systemic medical conditions and low vision. Residents learn a varitey
of advanced skills including as visual field interpretation, punctal plug insertion, fluorescein angiography with interpretation,
ocular photography, and removal of foreign bodies.
